I am a non-traditional student at the University of Central Florida Majoring in Aerospace Engineering, expected to graduate in spring 2024. I have always been passionate about the space industry and am excited to continue growing my experience and knowledge.
I currently am leading the team of students on a project I proposed to design and build an amphibious quadcopter drone for our Capstone Senior Design Project.
My engineering experience includes interning for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Langley Research Center, interning as a Mechanical Project Engineering Associate at Mitsubishi Power, and working as a research assistant in a Computational Fluid Dynamics and Aerodynamics Laboratory at UCF assisting PhD students conducting experiments on micro fluidity.
I helped recruit and re-activate the UCF chapter of Society of Women in Space Exploration (SWISE) where I am currently serving as the secretary for the organization. I am certified in level 1 high power rocketry where I designed, built, and successfully launched my own rocket. I participated in the NASA L’SPACE Mission Concept Academy, a workforce development program, in the spring 2023 semester where I was the Lead Systems Engineer for my team and helped lead my team to build a mission concept into a Preliminary Design Review, a document that worked through a mission lifecycle including writing requirements, developing a Gantt Chart, and verifying and validating our system requirements. I then served as an Engineering mentor for the L’SPACE program for the Command and Data Handling Engineering students as well as leading two teams of nearly 30 students on my own.
